Ex-Army Chief, Ishaya Bamaiyi Loses Mother At 118

The Deputy Senate Leader representing Kebbi South Senatorial zone Bala Ibn Na’Allah has condoled former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ishaya Bamaiyi over the death of his mother Arziki Bamaiyi Sunduh.

Family sources said she died at home in Ribah, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, on Monday night at the age of 118.Late Sunduh is also survived by other children Joshua, Bitrus, Anthony, Bitrus, Saratu, Husse and Timothy, many grand and great grand children.She is also the mother of late Major General Musa Bamaiyi former National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, and late Senator Danladi Bamaiyi.

Emir of Zuru retired Major General Muhammad Sani Sami II and Senator Muhammadu Magoro prayed God to grant her eternal rest and give the family, people of Zuru and Kebbi State, the fortitude to bear the loss.Sunduh died ahead of Bamaiyi’s Book presentation titled: “Vindication of a General” scheduled to hold in Abuja on Thursday.

A copy of the invitation card made available to our reporter indicated that, General Yakubu Gowon, former Nigerian Head of State, will serve as chairman of the occasion while former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed, will serve as special guest of honour, while Atiku Bagudu, governor of Kebbi State will serve as chief host.
